Technology Services mandates that all software requested for installation to any YCOE system is licensed through our department. All software products available in our software database must have proper licensing purchases made before installation can occur. This policy protects us from copyright infringement and any potential liability if a software audit was to take place by a third party auditor.
If there is interest from educators in a software product that is not listed in our software database, a Helpticket request must be made for that software title, at which time we will request a demo from the software vendor in order to test it for compatibility on our computers. If the software is found to be compatable, we will approve the licensed purchase and add that title to our approved software database. Software found not be compatable will be reported as such and we will assist in the search for a alternate software to meet the needs of the educator and the students.
