FAMILY ACTIVITY:

  • Have your children make a list of some of the things they have done "all by themselves."
  • Have them collect their dirty laundry and teach them to use the washer and dryer.

CLASS ACTIVITY:

  • Give your students an "open-ended assignment." Examples included taking them to the school library and asking them to write a one-page paper on any topic, or providing them with art supplies and asking them to make something.

HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITY:

  • Assign a short paper to your students on a something that is relevant to your classroom studies and about which there is information in the school library, but which is not covered in class.
